The Simmons Bank Open is a local favorite here in Middle Tennessee. Held previously at the Grove, this was the first year the final for the Korn Ferry Tour was held at the beautiful Vanderbilt Legends Club. Last year, I captured the winner of the tournament, Grayson Murray, in his victory moment on the 18th green in a live painting at the Simmons Bank Open. This year, I captured the 18th hole of Vanderbilt Legends in a painting that we used for the event poster.
One of the best parts of my job is visiting sites to take my own reference photos whenever possible. This year, I captured several shots, both from the ground and the sky. Ultimately, I choose a bird’s-eye view of the 18th hole with the Golf House of Tennessee in the background.
For This Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club Painting:
I brought that view back to the studio to create the final 24″ x 36″ oil painting on canvas. Watch the video below for a behind the look into creating the Vanderbilt Legends Club painting!
We featured this painting, “No. 18 at Vanderbilt Legends Club,” on our event poster (click here to get yours!). Now, we’re excited to auction the original artwork to benefit the Refuge Center for Counseling in Franklin, Tennessee. Learn more about my visit with Director of Development, Patty Eller, and how the center supports mental health in Middle Tennessee. The proceeds from the silent auction of the original painting, along with 50% of all poster print sales, will go directly to this impactful nonprofit.
Golf tournament posters are a unique and memorable way to celebrate any event. I loved every step of creating “No. 18 at Vanderbilt Legends Club.” Want your event captured in a custom painting? Contact me at [email protected] to get started!
