"This is the origin of the game, golf in its purest form, and it's still played that way on a course seemingly untouched by time. Every time I play here, it reminds me that this is still a game."
- Arnold Palmer

About This Piece

Walking up 18 at the Old Course is one of the great moments in golf. The Swilcan Bridge in the foreground, the R&A clubhouse and Hamilton Grand rising behind, the town of St Andrews wrapping around the home green. It's the walk every golfer pictures.

This painting captures that moment from the fairway looking toward the green, the perspective you'd have approaching the bridge yourself, with the buildings of the town just beyond.

A note on the Swilcan Bridge: the small stone arch at the heart of this scene predates the modern game. It was originally built more than 700 years ago to help shepherds move sheep across the burn. Today it's photographed more than almost any landmark in golf, every Open Championship winner crosses it, and so does every golfer lucky enough to play the Old Course.

Created by officially licensed artist Aimee Smith from her original 48" × 36" oil painting. Each print is hand-signed by the artist in her studio near Nashville, Tennessee, and features the official St Andrews Links crest in the white border.

The 18" × 24", 30" × 40", and 36" x 48" sizes are limited to editions of 50.

FAQs

Absolutely!  If you don't see your country listed, please email me at hello@aimeesmithstudios.  Please note, collectors are responsible for applicable shipping, taxes, VAT and duties.

This depends.

If you ordered an original painting, it could ship within a few days to a week or two.  (I want to make sure they are packaged securely so you get your painting in perfect condition!).

Prints are made to order, and can take anywhere from 1-2 weeks (sometimes up to 3 weeks during the print shop's busy season).  Once they are shipped, please allow arpimd one week for US orders and around three weeks for delivery for international orders, as sometimes they can get held up in customs.

Holiday seasons can also add extending shipping time.

As much as we try to get your artwork to you in perfect condition, sometimes things get bent and bruised along the shipping journey.  If you receive anything less than perfect, let me know within 48 hours of its arrival, and we'll work on getting your replacement to you.

I want you to be 110% satisfied with your order.  If for any reason, you aren't happy with your print, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery at hello@aimeesmithstudios.com.

Commissions go through a series of proofs from concept to final images of the painting, and are non refundable.  We'll work together to make sure you're happy with it from beginning to end.

I love creating custom pieces for collectors. Due to exciting projects in the line up, I only accept a few commissions a year. To get on the list, email me at hello@aimeesmithstudios.com
