Aimee Smith is a distinguished artist known for her work in golf landscape painting. Her journey reflects a unique blend of discipline and passion. Initially forging a career as a Physician Assistant following graduate studies, Smith always nurtured her lifelong interest in painting, a pursuit that paralleled her professional path.

The pivotal moment in Smith’s career arrived after meeting her husband, a professional golfer from Scotland, which significantly influenced her artistic direction. This interaction introduced Smith to the world of golf, inspiring her to specialize in painting golf course landscapes. What began as personal projects for friends eventually evolved into a professional calling, leading her to transition from healthcare to art full-time.

Her professional pivot opened a multitude of prestigious opportunities. Smith became licensed with iconic golf courses, including St Andrews Links and Pebble Beach.  Her collaboration with the Sazerac company, known for producing Buffalo Trace whiskey, expanded her exposure and diversified her portfolio through live painting engagements at the distillery.

Smith’s contributions to the art and golf communities have been recognized through features in Golf Digest and the Golf Heritage Society, and collaborations with the Golf Channel and NBC Sports. Her work includes creating event posters for major tournaments, such as the Simmons Bank Open and the St Andrews Links Collegiate tournament, enhancing her reputation in both the art and sports arenas.

Her style is defined by its emphasis on natural light and precision.  She paints primarily in oil paints on large canvases, with an affinity for sizes you feel like you can walk through.  When possible, she takes her own reference photos and is supported by her FAA drone certification, allowing her to capture and reference aerial photography and videography for her pieces. This methodological approach ensures accuracy and depth in her depiction of golf landscapes.
