Royal Dornoch's 17th is one of those holes that photographs can never fully capture. The green sits elevated above the surrounding dunes, with the Dornoch Firth stretching out behind it and the Scottish Highlands rising in the distance. Capturing this hole took multiple trips to Scotland. Each visit brought different light, different shadows, different moods. The final reference photograph came on an afternoon when the sun cast long, creeping shadows across the green while the coastal grasses caught the breeze. Back in the studio, the 24" × 48" panoramic format gave the composition room to breathe - space for the dunes, the water, and the sky that makes this place feel infinite.
