Simmons Bank Open 2023 live painting showing the 18th green at The Grove with Grayson Murray and his caddie
Behind the Painting

Painted Live Over Four Days of Championship Golf

In September 2023, Aimee was invited to serve as the official live painter at the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation, a Korn Ferry Tour Finals event held at The Grove in College Grove, Tennessee. Over the course of the four-day tournament, she painted on-site, building each layer of the composition as the competition unfolded around her.

The painting captures the 18th green at The Grove with the clubhouse rising in the background. As each round was played, Aimee added detail to the course, the sky, and the gallery of spectators. When Grayson Murray sank his final putt to clinch the title by three strokes at 17-under par, she painted the victory moment between Murray and his caddie Kip Henley directly into the foreground of the canvas.

The result is a one-of-a-kind artwork that tells the story of a tournament from start to finish, created in real time on the grounds where it happened.

"
This is what we live for. I didn't see myself in this position, but you can always work hard and follow your goals, and that's what I did.

The Tournament

The Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation

The Simmons Bank Open is a Korn Ferry Tour event hosted by PGA Tour veteran and 2012 FedEx Cup champion Brandt Snedeker. The tournament benefits the Snedeker Foundation and was named the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour Tournament of the Year. In 2023, it was elevated to the Korn Ferry Tour Finals, with all four rounds broadcast on The Golf Channel.

The 2023 event was held at The Grove, a private Greg Norman Signature course set among the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee, just south of Nashville. The par-72 layout stretches over 7,300 yards of Zoysia fairways and Bermuda greens, maintained in championship condition year-round. The Grove's clubhouse and surrounding landscape provide a stunning backdrop for both competition and spectators.

Grayson Murray's victory at The Grove secured his PGA Tour status for 2024. He went on to win the Sony Open in Hawaii that January. Grayson passed away in May 2024 at the age of 30. In his memory, the Grayson Murray Foundation was established to promote addiction awareness and support mental health services.
