Wedding painting: Lake District wedding

My love language is giving gifts, and so maybe that’s why I’m in LOVE with the idea of giving wedding gifts that hold meaning and can be passed down generations to come. Custom wedding portraits are always such a treat to create. Starting from a photo the couple (or gift giver) loves from the day, I first create a compositional sketch, and then start adding in layers of texture and color. After the painting is approved, it’s set aside to dry. Once dry, it’s packaged and finished with a bow before it’s sent off to the couple.

This commission was for the SWEETEST couple in the Lake District, England.

Andy and Louise got married at St. Oswald’s Church in Grasmere. Built in 642, this historic church is in the heart of the Lake District and is the final resting place of the poet William Wordsworth.

They had their reception at the stunning Low Wood Bay hotel on the banks of Windermere.
